A high percentage of individuals have been tormented by skin problems like blemishes, rashes, pimples, blackheads and acne. These problems are commonly experienced during puberty or an early stage in life where people tend to be most socially insecure. Aside from being physical, the effects can also be psychological. It can drain an individuals self-esteem and confidence. Some individuals may continue experiencing acne related skin infections decades later and it may eventually diminish during early adulthood for most people. There is now way of predicting when it will gradually decrease or fully disappear. Pimples, blackheads, and blemishes are among the most common skin infections caused by acne. The infection is a result of excessive secretions of oil from the skin glands and its buildup when a skin pore is blocked. Upper regions of the body like the face, chest, back and upper arms are commonly infected.

Acne can be irritating for most people since it can almost be unpredictable and uncontrollable once it strikes. The exact causes of this skin disease are not known and there have been no guaranteed measure in averting it. Diet, hereditary reasons, vitamin deficiency and stress are among the factors that have been closely attributed to acne infections. Still, it is best to find a good acne skin care regimen to ease and control its growth. An average person can make use of typical acne skin care methods. For severe forms of acne, consulting dermatologists is advisable in finding ways to lessen swelling and prevent scarring.

Perhaps the best acne skin care regimen is to regularly wash your skin twice a day. Using a mild natural facial cleanser and warm water in washing your skin regularly can help remove dirt and pollutants. Using strong detergent soaps and scrubbing your skin can only worsen your acne problems. Too much scrubbing can aggravate acne and it can also open up blemishes. Popping pimples can make the blemishes to spread up causing more infection. Some astringents are too strong and can cause more skin irritation. Using astringents are only advisable for oily skin. Washing your hair regularly can also help in acne skin care. Washing hair, especially long ones, can help remove excess oil and dirt that might come in contact with the skin.

Proper acne skin care also involves shaving and using the right razor. Choosing and testing for a comfortable safety razor is important when you have acne. Before applying the shaving cream, the beard can be softened by washing it with soap and water. Using a sharp blade and shaving lightly helps avoid cuts and rupturing pimples. Many acne skin care products and medicines for treating skin diseases can make your skin more prone to sunburn. Exposing your skin for a while to the sun may help dry up acne blemishes in the surface. Too much exposure to the sun can cause rapid skin aging, skin cancer and can make your skin drier.

Individuals that are prone to acne and are being treated for it should use oil free cosmetic products. Benzoyl peroxide and other acne skin care treatment can redden the skin so applying regular cosmetics products might be difficult. Regular cosmetic products usually contain more fatty acids that are harmful to acne prone individuals. Looking for organic and acne skin care products that will match your skin tone can help avoid more infections.

It is still best that one should consult a dermatologist before applying any acne skin care product or using different methods. Exerting more effort is needed for serious cases of acne infection to keep it from recurring. Observing proper acne skin care is important especially for younger individuals since blemishes and rashes tend to heal faster at a young age. Keeping a healthy lifestyle and diet can help restore the bodys vitality easily.

For people who suffer from acne, the only thing worse is acne scars - those marks that are left behind as a constant reminder of what you went through while dealing with acne. Quite a bit of research has gone into acne scar removal, and some methods for acne scar removal have proven to be very effective.

Acne scar removal can be both painful, and expensive. In most cases, it will take more than one round of treatment to get the best results, and often, even with the best results, the scars are not completely removed, but are greatly diminished and less noticeable. Most acne scar removal treatments are done in the dermatologists office, and the patient is sedated.

The newest method for acne scar removal is laser skin resurfacing. Using a laser, the scarred skin is vaporized, leaving the layer of unscarred skin below the vaporized skin visible. Doctors are recommending laser skin resurfacing more than other treatments due to the fact that the results seem to be better, and fewer recurring treatments are necessary. While this method has been proven to be quite effective, other older methods of acne scar removal are also still used.

Dermabrasion is probably the widest known and used method of acne scar removal. A machine is used to literally abrade the skin, removing the top layer. Skin will have a smoother appearance, but the results are not as effective as laser skin resurfacing. Dermabrasion is less expensive than laser skin resurfacing, however.

Chemical peels are also a popular method for acne scar removal. Chemical peels work just like Dermabrasion and laser skin resurfacing, by removing the top layer of skin. But instead of using machinery or lasers, chemicals are used to remove the top layer. The results are about the same as the results that are achieved with Dermabrasion - and chemical peels are usually less expensive.

While laser skin resurfacing, Dermabrasion, and chemical peels are the most popular methods for acne scar removal, injection methods are also used. The injections may contain collagen, or fat taken from other parts of the body. While these injections work well, they do have to be repeated often, and they can be quite expensive. The injections do not actually remove or heal the scars - it simply hides them by filling them up.

Deep acne scars can be removed with punch grafts. Grafts of skin are taken from other parts of the body, and used to replace the scarred skin. This is a drastic method, and is usually only used for severe acne scars. This is a surgical procedure that is usually done in the hospital, not in the doctors office.

Less severe acne scars may be treated with over the counter creams that contain Retin-A. Your dermatologist can also prescribe medications that contain Retin-A for acne scar removal. Again, this will only work for very light scarring. Moderate to severe scarring requires other types of treatment, such as dermabrasion, chemical peels, or laser skin resurfacing.

Everyone is not a candidate for acne scar removal. Many active diseases or pre-existing conditions can prevent you from pursuing acne scar removal treatments. Such diseases or conditions should be discussed with your health care provider before seeking treatment for acne scar removal. Furthermore, if you have an acne breakout during your acne scar removal treatment, that treatment will be discontinued until the outbreak clears up, and there is no sign of infection.

Of course, the best treatment for acne scar removal would be not to get the scars in the first place. Do not pop or squeeze acne pimples, and do not leave acne pimples untreated. If you dont use anything else, use an antibiotic ointment on the pimples to ensure that the infection clears up properly. However, if you do have acne scars, and you are thinking about acne scar removal, talk with your dermatologist to determine which method will work best for you, keeping in mind that some treatments work well for some people, while different treatments work better for others. Your dermatologist will be able to determine which treatment will work best for you, based on the severity of your acne scars, and your skin type.

Copiers have taken over!

Do a Google search for ‘acne myths’ and you’ll see what I mean. You’ll end up with an almost endless list of articles about acne myths - all parroting the same old things. Let’s take a fresh look at some of these acne myths and how the ‘conventional wisdom’ may have prevented you from curing your acne < br>
The so called acne myth 1: Acne is caused by diet

This is one of the most common ones. Internet seems to be full of ‘experts’ quoting studies from the 60s saying that no scientific link has been established between diet and acne. That’s true, but it’s also equally true that it’s nearly impossible to study such a link.
< br>Consider the following quotes by different doctors: (Dermatology Times - 5/1/2003)

“There are still a lot of people around who claim that if they eat a lot of chocolate, they break out worse. I don’t know that there are any good, scientifically controlled studies.”

Lee J. Vesper, M.D

“Teen diets vary so widely, you have to have a very controlled study, and how can you do that with teens? You can’t trust teenage boys. There’s no way you can dictate a diet for any length of time that would have an impact on the skin.”

David M. Spencer, M.D.

“A number of years ago, there was a study that said chocolate was not a factor in acne. That was funded by the Hershey Corporation. Some studies had college students eat a certain diet, and offered compensation for that, but they were never really hard, double-blind studies because, how do you do that with food?”

Dennis D. Knutson, M.D.

“I do think the issue needs to be re-looked at, because there have never been very good studies.” on the subject of diet and acne

Dennis D. Knutson, M.D.

And that’s just from one issue of one magazine!

The truth of the matter is that there are no scientifically valid studies to prove a point in either direction. Just use your common sense.

Ok, what’s your average Western diet compromised of? Potatoes, bread (mostly wheat), meat, milk and other dairy products, sugars and fats.

Now, what do all those things have in common? They are hard to digest and take long time to digest and/or don’t digest properly. They sit long time in your stomach giving all the millions of bacteria there time to putrefy them. When something putrefies in your stomach you know it’s not good. You can smell it once the stuff comes out.

Point being, that all those foods create a lots of toxic or acidic waste during metabolism that needs to be eliminated. Your liver is your primary organ for doing that, along with colon and kidneys. However, those organs have only a finite capacity for handling that stuff.

What happens when they reach that capacity? Your body pushes all those toxins out through secondary channels (your skin and lungs, for example).

Now, guess in what kind of environment all that ‘bad’, pimple producing bacteria thrive? Yes, they like acidic/toxic environment. And you just discovered that your body is doing a hell-of-a-job in providing your skin just that.

Could this contribute to acne?

The so-called acne myths 2 & 3: Stress, sex/masturbation causes acne

Let’s deal those together since the mechanisms are basically same.

Levels of certain hormones affect your sex drive. Having sex causes your body to release hormones. Your body responds to stress by releasing hormones. Simple, we all know this.
< br>Once those hormones have served their purpose your body needs to process them to less active stuff and expel them. You probably guessed already that your liver is responsible for processing most of the hormones.

Now your liver is probably already fully booked with all the stuff that you eat. So it needs to push some of the toxics, that it would have otherwise processed, out through your skin to deal with the extra load.

Those hormones alone are probably not enough to cause acne. Combine them with a bad diet (which 90% of the Western population has) and they can make things worse.

The so-called acne myth 4: There is no cure for acne
< br>If you keep on with the life style that caused acne then this acne myth is true. Acne is an effect not a cause. As long as you maintain the cause (overload of toxins/acids) nothing will permanently remove the effect (acne). Clean up your system and acne will be gone all by itself.

Don’t let your hopes down because of some ‘debunkers’ whose only intention is to continue selling you ineffective acne products that will never cure your acne.

Get a fresh perspective on acne, take action and claim the skin you deserve.

After all - if you continue doing the same things you are going to get the same results.

The liver is responsible for detoxifying the blood as it comes from the colon, lungs, and lymphatic system. Once detoxified, this blood moves into your entire body to provide your cells with oxygen and digested nutrients.

Because you eat, breathe, and create so many toxins, the liver has a hard time neutralizing these toxins. If you are constipated, this puts an extreme toxic load on your liver, which eventually leads to the excretion of these toxins through your skin and face. Excessive toxins coming out through your skin can lead to acne and other skin disorders.

All cellular wastes, used up hormones, and excess hormones are routed to the liver through your lymphatic system. Once in the liver, the liver starts the detoxifying process. If the liver is overloaded with toxins, it will start to store these toxins in its own cells, in the cells of your organs, in your joints, in your skin, or any other place where the body is weak.

Hormones, such as androgens that are not neutralized by the liver, can get back into the blood and move into the skin cells where they pile up and cause an over production of sebum that will flow into the hair follicle. This over production can cause acne.

Eating good fiber daily can keep your colon clean and free of constipation. Fiber can also trap excess hormones and prevent them from being reabsorbed into your blood through your colon walls.

If you are a typical eater, then most likely you have been surviving on junk food. The quantity of toxic chemical and non-food additives that are in the food that you eat accumulates in your colon, your liver, your blood, and in your face as toxins that needs to be neutralized and eliminated.

All junk food and processed food is detrimental to your health and to your face. Once you stop punishing yourself and forcing your body to process toxic food products, you will have a chance of clearing your colon, liver, blood and the blemished conditions of your face.

One other thing, when the liver is congested and weak, it does not produce enough bile. Bile is needed in your small intestine to help digest fat and to promote good colon health. In your colon, bile helps to activate peristaltic action and thus prevents constipation.

One of his customers is quoted saying, Chris, I wish I had access to your book seven or eight years ago! I am 28 now, but when I was fifteen and sixteen I had horrible acne problems. It was so bad, that I was afraid to go to school because my self-esteem was so low! I had tried all the popular medications; Retina and Tetracycline, but that just seemed to make the problem worse. I had no choice but to live with it until it finally slowed down, as I got older. I would recommend for anybody who is suffering from Acne problems to get your book and give your system a shot! It is a natural treatment and is healthier for your body than taking prescription medications.

Gibson decided the best way he could help acne sufferers was to publish his results. Hes written everything down in an ebook appropriately titled, Acne Free in 3 Days.

Tips on Conquering Stale Breath David SnapeFace it, stale breath is gross. I remember my girlfriend
once had this awfully foul smell coming from her mouth. She
was sleeping and didn’t know it. As much as I loved her - I
have to tell you - that moment was slightly repulsive. Don’t
worry, I got over it and our relationship certainly didn’t
suffer. But, it was annoying.

Have you ever experienced someone else’s bad breath? I
know you have, it is a common experience and you don’t have
to be around this planet very long to have your own (awful)
experience with this. Just remember the last time and think
about the strong impression it left on you. Just think
about it.

I remember my father having lousy mouth-wash breath one
time. (You have to watch out for those alcohol based
mouthwashes). I was just a little kid but that breath of
his, that I could smell from across the room, left a very,
very powerful impression on me. Thirty years later - I
still remember it, as evidenced by my writing about it now.
Needless to say, the impression was a lasting one.

I’m not saying that experiencing someone else’s stale breath
will leave a scar on your psyche or anything like that, but,
you know something like that is probably hurting you
socially (if it’s you that has it). Do you think I wanted
to stay in the same room with him at that point in time? You
better believe I was looking for any excuse to move myself
to another space in the house, so I could breathe!

You probably don’t want to suffer like that - I mean like my
dad. He probably didn’t know that he had that awful breath
and who knows who he ran into outside of the house.

Some products should be avoided like the plague. First, as
mentioned above, you have got to watch out for those
alcohol-based mouthwashes. Not only can they actually drive
people away from you, but they can also dry the mucous
membranes of the mouth.

Dry mucous membranes make it easier for bacteria to make a
home. Thereby possibly creating more bad breath. The whole
purpose of mucous is to move matter out and away. Picture a
running nose and you will get the idea. Mucous is there to
clean, moisturize and rinse.

Sodium lauryl sulfates, or their cousins, which you will
find in many toothpastes do the same thing. They can cause
the mucous membranes to dry so the membranes aren’t as
effective at doing their job. Think about how dish water,
which is filled with soap, dries your hands. It is similar
to the effect lauryl sulfates have inside your mouth. You’ll
often find these in toothpaste. Next time you are in your
bathroom, run down the list of ingredients in your
toothpaste tube.

There are products available that don’t have these
ingredients in them - alcohol and lauryl sulfates that is.
You can find them if you look around a bit. There are some
very unique alternatives. Try to find something that will
still reduce the bacteria but without drying out the mucous
membranes.

This article is for information only and not meant to
prevent, treat or diagnose any condition. See your dentist
for any oral health issues you may have.
